I frequently observe these wild chrysanthemums growing at the entrance to my flower garden. When I look at this design, I get a sense of warmth and lightness. A mossy green background is contrasted with five little yellow flowers and their stems. The author painted the border an ocher color to help the barn quilt look more put together.
